21. Henry⁴ Bessant (James³, John², William¹) was born in Weston-in-Gordano, Somerset, England 12/01/1849. Henry died 16/07/1881 in Cheddar, Somerset, England, at 32 years of age.

He married Hannah Humphries in Axbridge Registry Office, Somerset, England, 7/02/1870. Hannah was born Cheddar, Somerset 1850.

Henry Bessant and Hannah Humphries had the following children:

24 i. William⁵ Bessant was born Cheddar, Somerset 1870.

25 ii. Ernest E Bessant was born Cheddar, Somerset 1872.

26 iii. Florence Ada Bessant was born in Cheddar, Somerset, Englnad 20/03/1873. She married Charles Carter. Charles was born in Cheddar, Somerset, England 1861. Charles was the son of Thomas Carter and Ellen Harris. (See Charles Carter for the continuation of this line.)

27 iv. Frederick J Bessant was born Cheddar, Somerset 1874.

28 v. Beatrice L Bessant was born Cheddar, Somerset 1876.

29 vi. Herbert J Bessant was born Cheddar, Somerset 1877.

30 vii. Gilbert Bessant was born Cheddar, Somerset 1879.
